Help me Help you, Jerry!
Why dont the people in New Orleans who can walk start doing so? Steal a skateboard, bike, etc and clog the damn highway. If buses can make it, so can people. I know that it is 100 degrees outside, but Im hard pressed to believe that sitting around with corpses is healthier than walking. Historically, people traveling by foot have been successful. Maybe I dont have the faculties to understand their dilemma. If they are hanging around to take care of a loved one, then that is admirable, but I still dont believe that every single person there is sticking around for a loved one.

Here at my school in San Antonio we are already getting student refugees who went to universities in New Orleans, but their schools got obliterated, so our school is allowing them to register and take classes here temporarily. They all say it is out of control crazy down there right now, and how half of it is not even making the news.

Srsly people! Even in Oregon, we're getting the low down on how crazy its getting over there. I'm hearing rumors of rapes and stabbings inside the superdome. People hoarding and selling supplies. All sorts of barbarous behavior.
Far from pointing my finger at the Feds or local enforcement, I slowly feel my sense of charity and remorse strained at the sights and words I've seen and heard from the victims.
Everyone seems to be blaming the president for this. The race card is being played constantly. Grow up people! Sometimes, no matter how fast you run or hard you try...

Actually some of them are... and they seem to be faring much better than those who are sticking around. Many of those sticking around can't leave b/c of the violence, or because they aren't in good enough condition to.
