In the closet

I just finished reading an illegal immigrant case and concurred with the decision. Then i looked at who wrote it. Rehnquist. Im even having a hard time convincing myself these days. Here's the bait piggies. Or should I say elephants?

Pretty soon you and I are going to be debating politics- but it will be completely reversed.

Being affiliated to a specific political party does not obligate you to concur with all their viewpoints. Disagreement on certain issues is actually a good sign that you are doing your own thinking, and are not "towing the party line". However, disagreement on a smattering of issues does not necessitate having to completely shift your party preference, but rather may suggest investigating other outlooks within your current party.
Give me a call Tink, I'll bring you back in from the cold.

I think its the earmark of a good Justice that the decision is based upon the Law rather than political ideology (which shifts even within political parties).

Judge Rehnquist was a rather brilliant who formed his opinions based upon the law and the evidence presented.

I think he did the office good service.
