Britney shaved her head. This is breaking news because..? The fact that CNN and every other major network is reporting this illustrates the extent to which society has decayed. Does anybody out there actually care about stuff that is relevant, like how the dollar has deteriorated in value over the last few years. Americans dont seem to give a shit about this. Mark my words: In 10 years, China and India will be kicking our asses economically, because we decided that Myspace and Perez Hilton were more important than educating our masses.
That deserted island is looking better day by day.

I AGREE! Who cares?!? Celebrity has gotten out of control. Take the Anna Nicole thing- you would have thought the President died. Since when does CNN/Fox etc covery "celebrity" stories? She held herself out to be a scandalous drug addict (and I'm being nice); is anyone surprised that she is dead? What great "role models" we have. Please. Sad if you knew her, but for the rest of us, who cares. -d

The dollar declining isn't actually a bad thing. When the dollar is low our trade deficit improves and we actually export more than we import. A cheaper dollar actually helps many trades in the US. Also, the dollar has been increasing steadily for the past 16 months, and the Euro's value has been declining.

The dollar declining in the short term is not that bad, like you said. But in the long run, the lack of educated peers diminishes the strength of the work force, making domestic firms less competitive over the long run. When domestic companies outsource, it generally has little benefit for American's and significantly benefits the country the work is taken to. In the aggregate, the only real loser is the country that loses the business, which is currently and continually likely to be the US. At least according to The Superficial.
I like Britney. And if you all hate the media so much, then how do you all know so many details about what is going on? The truth is that a lot of people need to get a life, and instead of getting one- they adopt the celebrities' lives because they are more exciting. Honestly, I didn't know that Britney shaved her head until I read this. Why? Because I don't care. I don't know if she is a good Mom. Why? Because I don't know her. I feel bad for Anna Nicole's family, but I don't really care how the legal issues turn out. Why? Because no matter what happens, and who the father is-I don't get any of that money! So for those of you worrying about whether Britney is a good mom, or if K-Fed should have custody- GET A LIFE!!!!!
I was just pointing out that because mainstream media runs stories like these, i have no choice but to hear about them when i am trying to stay current on other, more pressing events.
