Random Friday Musings

Had a great night last night. Started off with a few drinks with some classmates and ended up seeing a midnight showing of "300". Great movie, great cinematography, equally great character development. Not so great was the fact that I had to pee pee the entire movie but was too stubborn to go. If you can get to an IMAX to catch this one, i definitely recommend it.

Also, after my various trips to tattoo parlors and watching miami ink, i have discovered that i really like the art displayed in tattoo shops. The savvy tattoo shops would advertise the art and tie it in with their services. I should have bought that 5ft dragon painting when I saw it.

Timing

As usual, my timing sucks. I am thoroughly sick and tired of law school. I barely manage to stay conscious long enough to take some notes during class, and by take notes, i mean instant message. One small problem, this pobrecito has two months of classes left.

I need to shake this fever. My thirst for something non-law school related is insatiable.

The take over, the break's over

Scratch the patience crap. You want something, you have to work for it. Initially, I didnt think i was up for the challenge but then i got motivated. I know the odds are against me on this one, but that never stopped me before. Heads will roll, mountains will crumble, babies will cry, but more importantly I will know that I tried.

Patience

Sometimes things are simply out of your hands. No amount of effort or pursuit will get you the desired outcome. Sometimes you just have to wait, which is why patience is a virtue.

Non-sequitur

I have decided to take the Oregon Bar in July. No specific reason, I just cant find another place that compels me. Thought about Chicago and Seattle, but neither feel right at this point in my life.

This term has been the busiest of law school thus far, with a 30 page term paper, 15 credits, and an almost full time job. The job is treating me well. I am learning alot and my boss is great mentor. I look forward to finishing up school and starting practice.

Lately, I havent had much time for TV, although im guilty of watching Maui Fever and Miami Ink. Planning a Europe trip for after the bar.

Not sure how much longer I plan on continuing this blog. I just dont feel like sharing the details of my life like I used to. Hope everyone is doing well.

I used to be a dweller. Whining about how things used to be. Wishing they would return to the way they are permanently frozen in my head. This wasnt healthy. Take control of the things you can change, and let life serve you up the rest. Happiness is not a destination, after all. It's a state of mind, and youre the only one who can change it.

Either im getting old or marketing companies are failing miserably. I laughed at the Doritos commercial and the ethicnically insensitive Budweiser ad. Other than that, i was sorely dissappointed. Not that i watched the second half or anything. Some of us have to work for a living. We cant all be blog-reading slackers.

open letter to the stock market

Dear stock market,

Thank you for killing any hope i had of paying my law school debt down. In fact, with your recent downward spiral I will be lucky to send one of my eleven kids to college. Perhaps the only way you can make this world just again is by reuniting Guns n roses or neutering Paris Hilton. At the very least, give me my money back.
